You may be aware that emotional stress can lead to headaches, stomach aches and conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome but you may not know that it can also contribute to long term chronic pain and diseases.
We may have limiting beliefs or self sabotaging thoughts that are holding us back in life. When we believe these thoughts, we create certain emotions.
Every thought or feeling we have triggers the release of certain neuropeptides. When we are feeling stressed these neuropeptides trigger the “fight or flight” response which are fine in the short term but if we are in a constant state of this stress response (usually prolonged low level stress) these hormones will gradually damage our body.
A prolonged negative or stressed mental state will in time weaken a correlating area of your body. By the time you feel the physical symptoms, you have probably held that state of being for quite a while.
These physical symptoms of pain are our bodies way of telling us our feelings are being ignored.
Bringing awareness to these thoughts and feelings is the key to change..
